Mental Health Awareness Month - Thankful ThursdayMay 27, 2020 - Karlea Barnes
As part of its focus on physical, mental and emotional health, the Enliven program is sharing tips to ensure employees are caring for and improving upon their mental wellbeing during this Mental Health Awareness Month.
As we continue celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month with Thankful Thursday, we want to share our gratitude for the health and safety of our employees and their families, and for your commitment to Enable.
We all have something for which to be thankful, and we hope you will take some time today to practice the following thankfulness tips and tricks.
- Write a thank you letter. There are countless healthcare workers and essential employees who have served on the frontlines of the COVID-19 outbreak. Send them a note expressing gratitude for their actions and for their service to their community.
- Practice a random act of kindness. Pay it forward at the Starbucks drive thru, have your neighbor’s groceries delivered or virtually reach out to someone in need. Serving others, even at a (social) distance, can be a great way to give thanks for the blessings in your life.
- Create a gratitude list. Sometimes it is good to remind yourself of the many reasons to be grateful. Take a few moments to start a gratitude list and update it each time you think of another thing for which you are thankful.
Just like physical health, mental health is extremely important. Seeking guidance and support for mental health is as important as seeking a doctor for physical wellbeing. For help or support, please take advantage of Enable’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Provided at no cost to you, the EAP offers confidential support, information and resources. You can learn more about EAP online or by calling 800-311-4327.
