Feel Good Friday

As part of its focus on physical, mental and emotional health, the Enliven program is sharing tips to ensure employees are caring for and improving upon their mental wellbeing during this Mental Health Awareness Month.

It is important to give your body time to rest and recoup from the stress of the week. For some, this could mean getting extra sleep, while others may recharge their batteries by doing something fun or trying something new.

Studies have shown stress contributes to some of the leading causes of death, so when you take time to unwind, you are helping your body repair itself and benefiting your immune system. Recharging regularly can also help keep you well and avoid illness.

Consider practicing some of these relaxing activities:

  • Set aside one day a week to fully rest
  • Turn off your Wi-Fi temporarily, as no Internet means no distractions
  • Take a relaxing bath
  • Eat or cook your favorite meal
  • Take a drive
  • Walk your dog
  • Read a book
  • Practice journaling

No matter how you unwind this weekend, find something that resonates with you and allow yourself the opportunity to slow down and rest.

Just like physical health, mental health is extremely important. Seeking guidance and support for mental health is as important as seeking a doctor for physical wellbeing. For help or support, please take advantage of Enable’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Provided at no cost to you, the EAP offers confidential support, information and resources. You can learn more about EAP online or by calling 800-311-4327.
