Enable finishes second, winners announced

Over the course of the past 12 weeks, Enable employees participating in the Enliven HealthyWage weight-loss challenge worked hard to improve their overall wellbeing by eating better and losing weight. With gyms closed and many employees now working from home, participants had to get creative with their workouts and find new ways to stay motivated.

The challenge is wrapped up and the results are in! Enable placed second overall in company standings, with 2,966 total pounds lost between our 196 participants for an average weight loss of 6.5% or 15.1 pounds lost.

Enable’s top team was ThickToThin, which finished third out of the 189 teams participating across all companies and received $2,000 from HealthyWage. Consisting of Derek and Leslie Wellman, Cheyenne Simmons and Courtney and Denice Smith, ThickToThin lost a total of 147 pounds for a percentage loss of 14.42%. Enable’s other top teams included Western Oklahoma Guys and Slimpossible, who finished fourth and seventh overall, respectively.

“The challenge was a great experience for my family, and we were excited to finish in the top three overall,” said Denice Smith, E&C analyst. “We all lost at least 24 pounds by holding each other accountable through our group chat, as well as by sharing healthy recipes and meal ideas. Being able to do this as a team instead of just as an individual made a huge difference, and we have already committed to losing more weight together over the next few months.”

Enable’s top participants in the challenge included Cody Peacock (Slimpossible), Braden Potter (Western Oklahoma Guys), Mitchell Reeves (Western Oklahoma Guys), Katie Aisenberg (Enable MisFITS) and Audrey Shuffler (Profits in Losses). As the employee participant with the greatest weight-loss percentage, Cody Peacock, senior manager, Right of Way, won the MIRROR in-home fitness system, including a one-year subscription.

“My main goal going into the challenge was to achieve the 16.59% max weight loss, and I ended up losing more than that, so it was rewarding to see my hard work pay off,” said Peacock. “I was part of a great team that kept one another focused and on track, and I would encourage anyone wanting to get serious about weight loss to find an accountability partner, set a goal and stick to it.”

The weight-loss challenge may be over, but participants are still encouraged to continue the beneficial habits they developed over the course of the campaign. Over the next few months, HealthyWage will provide participants with additional education, as well as reward those who achieve a weight loss of 10% or more at the end of nine months with their registration fee returned in full.

Each month of the challenge, Enliven gave away a smart watch of up to $600 in value to an Enable employee participating in the challenge. Tim Callihan, O&M Tech, Carlisle Team, Field Operations, is April’s monthly winner. Congrats to all challenge participants!
